Better Call Saul Season 7 Release Date

Better Call Saul begins six years before the events of Breaking Bad and follows the misadventures of Jimmy McGill, Mike Ehrmantraut, and Gus Fring while welcoming new characters like Kim Wexler, Howard Hamlin, and Lalo Salamanca. Better Call Saul has continually impressed critics and viewers since its 2015 debut.

Viewers may be curious about Better Call Saul season 7 after season 6 had such a warm response. Will there be a new season? What would be the plot? Are there any other Breaking Bad spinoffs in the works?

We won’t get Better Call Saul Season 7

The show’s co-showrunner, Peter Gould, announced that season 6 would be the show’s final run when the renewal announcement came in early 2020. During their appearance at the Better Caul Saul panel at the Television Critics Association, he stated: “My dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true.”

We take this to mean that season 6 was the natural end to the tale of Jimmy McGill, also known as Saul Goodman, to Breaking Bad fans. This theory was confirmed by the events of the season 6 finale titled ‘Saul’s Gone’ that marked the end of the 63-episode show. The events of the episode seem to end where Breaking Bad begins.

Will there be another Breaking Bad Spinoff?

After the success of Better Call Saul and the movie El Camino, it is impossible to rule out another spinoff from the exciting Breaking Bad Universe. However, this will not be one for a long time, according to showrunner Vince Gilligan. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he stated, “I can definitely imagine revisiting it [the Breaking Bad franchise]. Selfishly, I’d like to do so, to keep this thing going.”

He added, “Yes, I could do more with this universe, and maybe someday I will, especially if I fail at everything that comes next. Then I’ll come crawling back. But right now, whether there’s more room to grow or not — and there probably is — I feel like it’s time to do something new.”
