Brian Stelter’s Wife is an Emmy-nominated journalist
Jamie Shupak Stelter is an Emmy-nominated journalist who works as an on-air broadcaster at NY1 News in New York City. She was born on 31st December 1985 in Philadelphia, United States.
She attended the University of Maryland, where she graduated in 2003. Afterward, she landed her first job as a traffic reporter for News 12 Westchester, where she worked her way up to the reporter and producer role. She stayed until 2008 and later worked as a traffic reporter for other news outlets, including WTXF-FOX 29 and WNBC.
According to the New York Post, she joined NY1 News in 2010, where she was described as a ‘local cult favorite’. She stated that she preferred her early morning working hours and never wanted a 9-5 job.
She also began writing a column for Complex Magazine, which talked about her experiences dating in New York. In 2013, she wrote a novel named Transit Girl. It was loosely based on her life as she coped with her cheating ex-fiancé, her dream job as a transit reporter, and dating in Manhattan.
Brian and Jamie met through Pat Kiernan
Brian was working for the New York Times when he met Jamie in 2013. Jamie asked Pat Kiernan, then an NY1 announcer, to introduce her to Brian. The two began dating and married in a Jewish ceremony the following February.
In 2019, Jamie posted a copy of the email Brian sent to Kiernan on Twitter, with a caption expressing her gratitude that the app brought them together. The tweet read: “Nine years ago today, @brianstelter sent @patkiernan a direct message that changed my life. I would never say this about current Twitter but FOR THAT TWITTER: thank god. Pat later printed the DM, put it in a card, and gave it to us on our wedding day. It’s framed next to our bed.”

An attached photo showed the email Brian sent to Kiernan. It read: “Two innocent and unrelated questions: Does Jamie Shupak have a boyfriend? And how often is she asked out by viewers?”
Kiernan wrote at the bottom of the printed email for their wedding gift: “Wishing you a lifetime of ‘innocent and unrelated’ questions.”
Jamie and Brian Stelter have two children together
The couple welcomed their daughter in May 2017. Their son was then born in August 2019.
The kids often appear on Brian’s Instagram page.
Jamie recently underwent surgery due to rheumatoid arthritis
Jamie Stelter doesn’t wear high heels due to her rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. Rheumatoid arthritis makes the joints ‘tender, swollen, and painful.’ The disease has forced Jamie to undergo fusion surgeries on her foot and neck.
She manages the condition by wearing comfortable shoes. Dr. Harry Fischer of Mount Sinai said:
“Comfortable shoes are the most important thing and I think sneakers are very comfortable. Sneakers with a good arch support, you know sometimes shoes that are wide enough and comfortable enough with enough support.”
In early July 2022 underwent surgery on her left ankle.
