Fran Kirby is a professional football player who plays for the London-based club Chelsea FC. She also represents the England national team and recently helped the side win the 2022 Women’s EURO trophy.

A history of illness has threatened her playing career, having missed out on most of the 2019/2020 campaign after a pericarditis diagnosis and missing part of the 2021/2022 season because of fatigue-related issues. She has dealt with the obstacles before her so far, and that EURO victory will surely be worthwhile to her.

Fran Kirby is openly gay and previously dated Maren Mjelde

Fran Kirby is openly gay and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. She was even featured in Diva Magazine’s Visible Lesbian 100 list during Lesbian Visibility Week in April 2020.

Currently, it seems that she is currently single and focusing on her career. She is active on social media, with over 800 posts on her Instagram page. The majority of her posts are about the forward’s career. Kirby was previously in a relationship with fellow Chelsea teammate Maren Mjelde.

Maren is a Norwegian professional football player who captains the Norway national team in addition to playing as a defender or midfielder for Chelsea. She previously played for the Norwegian Toppserien clubs Arna-Bjrnar and Avaldsnes IL, the Frauen-Bundesliga club Turbine Potsdam, and the Swedish Damallsvenskan club Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC.

The two kept their relationship private; therefore, we know little about it. It is also not clear when the couple separated. There has been no reliable news on whether or not Kirby is dating again, which is expected considering how she keeps her personal life private.
