Penny Mordaunt’s Husband: Her Love Life Explored

Penelope Mary Mordaunt was born on March 4, 1973, in Torquay, Devon, United Kingdom. She is a British politician serving as Minister of State for Trade Policy since 2021. Mordaunt has been an MP for Portsmouth North since 2010 and was elected through the Conservative Party. 

She formerly served in Theresa May’s Cabinet as Secretary of State for International Development from 2017 to 2019 and as Secretary of State for Defense in 2019. 

She is currently the favorite candidate to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party.

Penny Mordaunt’s marriage to ex-husband Paul Murray ended after a year

Mordaunt studied philosophy at the University of Reading and graduated in 1995. During her time there, she met Paul Murray. The two got into a relationship and married in 1999 when they were both 26 years old.

Paul Murray is the son of retired Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Murray. According to their marriage certificate, Paul was an assistant hall manager, and Penny was described as a press officer, having just begun her career in public relations.

Their marriage was short-lived as the couple divorced after one year – in 2000. Reports from a friend say that the marriage was so bad that it was off–limits in discussions. It even went on to say that it put Penny off marriage for the rest of her life.

After the divorce, there was no extra information concerning Paul as he was no longer in a relationship with Penny. His life has remained private. 

The couple had no children together.

Penny Mordaunt was in a relationship with Ian Lyon, a classical singer 

Later, she became romantically involved with Ian Lyon, a classical singer and the owner of an IT company. The two had a long-term relationship and split up in 2016. 

The couple had no children together. Instead, Penny is known to be a cat lover and even breeds Burmese cats at her home. 

Penny has been focused on her career life, which may prove worthwhile if she clinches the Prime Minister seat.
